Dec. 4, 2023 - Two former Evansville Signature School students found their names on this year’s Forbes 30 Under 30 list. When 19-year-olds Kerry Ao and Naina Muvva found there to be a lack of financial literacy in the United States, Intertwined was born. “We really saw that like, there was a want of students to learn financial literacy, to learn how the stock market works and all of that,” says Muvva.

Nov. 28, 2023 - Kerry Ao and Naina Muvva learned that 80% of Americans can't identify basic financial literacy concepts. In response, they created Intertwined, an educational software platform that utilizes AI, pre-ChatGPT, to adapt the platform based on how each student interacts with the curriculum. The focus is on financial literacy education, and Intertwined helps its 2,800 students in over 25 states engage with the basics of financial responsibility and more complex topics. With $36,000 in funding from accelerator STARTedUP Foundation, angel investors and bootstrapping, Intertwined now has a projected revenue of $270,000 for 2024 with a $2 million valuation.

Nov. 28, 2023 - Even though most schools have returned to in-person instruction following the Covid-19 pandemic, education settings need to adapt to reach students where they are. Intertwined, a financial literacy software founded by 19-year-olds Kerry Ao and Naina Muvva, helps students interact with curriculum, uses AI to adapt the platform and engage students at where they are at in their virtual learning.

May 4, 2023 - Kerry Ao is a senior at Signature School in Evansville and is already making waves for the startup he co-founded designed to boost financial literacy among students. The company, Intertwined Finance LLC, has created a software program that is being piloted in 14 states and has gained interest from other parts of the U.S. and internationally. Ao also recently won Student Entrepreneur of the Year at the TechPoint Mira Awards. Speaking with Gerry Dick at the Mira Awards ceremony, Ao said the startup has created adaptive assessments using AI to support student learning.

Apr. 20, 2023 - Evansville, Ind.-based Intertwined CEO and Co-founder Kerry Ao won the award for Student Entrepreneur of the Year during TechPoint’s 24th annual Mira Awards gala honoring the best of tech in Indiana. When you’re an Indiana high school senior and France’s President Emmanuel Macron applauds one of your research papers, you might be forgiven for focusing solely on a future in international affairs. Evansville’s Signature School senior Kerry Ao would likely respond, “Au contraire.”

Jul 28, 2022 - The University of Evansville’s High School Changemaker Challenge winners are taking the Tri-State by storm, and they’re doing it through finance. “We then competed in Innovate WithIN, which is a state-wide pitch competition, and because of that we have more networking and more connections and from there everything took off,” said CEO and Co-founder, Ao.

That high school contest led to investors getting behind Intertwined to the tune of $30,000.

Jan. 25, 2022 - They say the event encourages young people to use creative problem-solving skills to tackle the biggest challenges facing the community and world. The first-place winners were Kerry Ao and Naina Muvva who both received full-tuition scholarships to UE. Both participants say they were shocked when they heard they won.

Jul. 26, 2022 - Intertwined Finance LLC today announced a $30,000 pre-seed investment from Paul Saunders, President of eLuxury.com & ePackageSupply.com, and software investor Luke Bucshon, formerly at Vista Equity Partners. Earlier this year, Intertwined Finance was named the University of Evansville Changemaker Challenge Champion and an Innovate WithIN State Finalist.

Jan. 27, 2022 - The University of Evansville has awarded substantial scholarships to several Indiana high school students as part of its High School Changemaker Challenge. Kerry Ao and Naina Muvva of Signature School in Evansville won first place and are awarded full tuition. They developed an online, interactive simulator used in schools to enhance students’ understanding of finance through portfolios, stocks, and more. It’s called Intertwined Financial Literacy.
